RP Bumps: We here at TP would like to ask members to not post in threads just to say bump or some other form of OOC chat only with no post. if you want to bump a post, or say something OOC do so out side of the thread. You can say something OOC though if you actually have a full sized RP post along side it. Also please wait at least 4 days before bumping a thread. Some members may be busy or about to post and messaging them only a day or two later may just demotivate them. Yes they may have forgotten but to be sure please just wait 4 days unless they ask you to remind them sooner.
Double Posting: Please avoid Double Posting when you are in a thread with someone else. If you need to add more tell your fellow RP-ers to wait for you to do so and edit into your thread, please do not just send 2 or more posts after another because you want to add more to your reply.
Cannons: Cannon characters will be allowed on the site, though they first need to be processed into how we will be working the site's combat systems. Once they will be we will allow members for the first month of their entry onto the site to have 1 free slot to take them on. Members will not be allowed to have more than 1 character from each collective group/family. Such as the Flashes, The rouges, The Bat family, and the inmates that are commonly found in Arkham. This is to avoid members taking too many characters form one group/family and not allowing others to try someone in their group/family.
Though in time there may be competitions or prizes that would allow a member to take on another member of that family. Until the cannons are taken, major cannons that we would need for major site arcs or events will be allowed to be played by staff or a member that would know how to RP them well. When this happens we will form a plotter and tracker for the cannon so that anyone who wishes to play them in the future has access to every thread the character had played in the past and knows an overview of what they have done so they don't magically forget what they have done in the past or who they know. When cannons are made in active they have 2 more months to be reclaimed before becoming up for grabs for anyone to take.
Ratings, Adult Content, Maturity: I will say this right now, we are a heavily mature site at times. If you do not wish to possibly come into threads or see threads that could be inappropriate for preteens and kids do not join the site. There may be sensitive content in certain threads though when this happens members are to label their threads after their tags with (Sensitive Material) or (SM) and also at the start of their posts colored with a color that stands out so that everyone can see that the post may have material that they may not want to read. Members are to fade to black if things get too sexual in their threads, we are not an erp, smut, or lemon site.
We do allow members to get into relationships, and even have children here. Though please note, if you have a child character or someone who looks like a child for some reason you will not be allowed to have them enter in their own sexual relation ships... they're kids...that's not okay. Yes, it happens in the world but that doesn't mean it's appropriate to RP your character doing it. You can reference that stuff in your RP's if it happens to NPC's but you may not have your character do it.
With pregnancies, please be respectful when handling them, if they are not to have a 'happy ending' please put a warning at the start of your thread this happens with a (SM). Your characters must stay pregnant for at least 4 months OOC time before having the children. If they have kids quicker to that you must wait the exact time they would take OOC before having the child. Once again when handling sensitive material be respectful when you do so and label it when needed. And if you don't like sites like these don't join, please do not message us saying how you don't like it and how we should change or something.
Time Travel: Time travel is, in fact, permitted on the site though we have come up with a set of rules on how it works to avoid conflicts with everyone's characters since anyone at any point can time travel for plot related reasons. The major one is, Time travel is not to be used for combat, only for plot reasons as previously stated. The next one is, you cannot change your own past. This is due to the fact that here when you go back in time you enter a parallel universe that replicates what your own past was like at the time you went to. Anything you do there will change that worlds time line, not your own.
This way no butterfly affects can shatter the stories the whole site has at the time. This point would only alter if we do a time travel site arc to where everyone had decided to do this, and has a chance to fix what others they to change. The next rule is, nothing is written in stone. This meaning that when you go to the future you will see the future that would have happened if you didn't go to the future. The moment you see anything in the future it alters how things may happen.
This allowing you to tell the story of the future you want without telling another member, this is how things will be, how you will be, and you can never change it. This rule will never change in its entirety. The only time it will not be fully the way things will be is when the RP-er themselves decided to commit to becoming their future self and RP's out their character becoming who they will be. When writing the future please respect other members and how they would want their characters portrayed. You may only use another persons character from the future if they have allowed it.
Open, Closed, Private, and Staff Assist: On this site there are 3 kinds of threads that you may make and must pick one to put in a tag at the ending of your thread titles in '[]'. The first kind is Open threads. When you do this anyone may join the thread but ONLY if it makes logical sense. If it does not make logical sense for someone to be in your thread and you do not want them there contact a staff member and they will handle the situation. The second are Closed threads. These threads are only made by making an open thread that has reached it's max capacity of members in it.
Once a thread has gained at least 5 members in it the creator may change the threads tag from open to closed from that point on. They can change it back to open at any point but if they do and a member leaves making the member count down to 4 they must wait for another member to join before going back to closed. This is to avoid over cluttering threads.
The third and final one are private threads. These are strictly used for threads that are heavily important to the plot of a character that needs only certain people to join and would not be able to complete their plot development if they had interruptions. These are not to be used for the first date threads or hanging out, this is only for major plot threads to allow members who had been unable to complete their plot development from random people joining their open threads.
If you are caught over using or misusing private tags you will be asked (based on how badly you abused them) to either cut back on private thread tags, stop using them for X amount of time, or may be unable to use them for personal threads any longer. The threads have been made like this to ensure that there are always threads for people to join, and so that villains don't do a major crime that no one else can join to stop, or to ensure that members don't constantly exclude new members from trying to join members in their RP's.
Now I know that sometimes members may flood your threads with people attacking your character or trying to stop them from what they were doing, or caused the situation of it being 1vs5 people. When this happens please contact a staff member with a detailed description of the situation, and a link to the thread. If you truly need the assistance the staff will send in an NPC or two to even the odds and make things an even fight once again. Even if a thread is closed or private we will do this for you.
Death Thread, Peace Thread, Combat Thread, Oked vs Killed: There are 3 kinds of sub tags you can add into your main tags for thread titles. When there are no sub tags this means that anything goes, but no one can be killed without permission. So basically your standard thread. In standard threads if you are hit with a killing blow you will be gifted with the power of exmocina. From some random plot reason you are not dead but you will be knocked out and be in major health danger due to the blow.
Note, unless pre-discussed and decided upon, you are not to join any thread of any kind and suddenly throw in an insta-kill sneak attack move, that's not classy, that's not fun, and is just rude if you pulled it out of nowhere. When threads are labeled Death Threads this basically means by joining this thread you are giving permission to be killed. It won't mean you will be but it basically means when you are hit with a killing blow you will not gain exmocina and you will die.
Don't worry though, this is a super hero site, there will be a chance at some point given by yourself, or staff, you can bring your dead character back to life if you don't want them to stay dead. When labeled Peace a thread will be unable to enter combat and be a simple social thread. You can spar in these threads but nothing can turn into true combat where both parties intend on harming each other. Due to everyone being able to join your threads this is allowed so that your social threads don't slip into mass combat.
Though note if every thread you make are peace threads and you don't allow combat to ever happen, and staff sees this, you will be suspended from using this sub tag for a certain amount of time based on how bad of the over usage was. Finally if a thread is labeled Combat it tells others that this thread will have some heavy combat at some point so expect a fight. When adding sub tags to main tags in your threads, write them like this [Open/Combat] at the end of your thread title.
Third Person Narrative Only: Here at TP we do strictly Third person narrative only for the main RP when it comes to things not involving our characters writing stories or messages to each other. We respect that many new generation RP-ers use first person though here we would like to keep things third person.
Posting Length: Please make sure your posts are at the minimum 100 words each to ensure that your posts have enough content for your fellow RP-er to work off of. To some 100 words may seem like a lot though it merely is just a decent sized paragraph of writing so making quick posts are still able to be a thing but they aren't lacking in content.
Posting Quality: We will not make members have to make posts of professional writing levels but we will ask members to follow the basic rules, use capitalization, periods, and other things the way they were meant to be. If you post something that looks like you didn't even remotely try to type too many times we will give you a warning. Missing caps or periods here and there is okay just don't make a post where one would be forced to question if you know what a shift key or a period is.
Finally when you post, try to reply to everyone and everything others send. This is to be kind to your fellow members and to save your own hide. Because if you message us saying someone just said they killed your character or got an attack in without you being able to block, then we go in and see that you blatantly kept ignoring them and their moves time and time again we will side with them since at that point you deserve to have your characters face punched in. It's not fun for anyone if you keep ignoring what others say. To RP you must read other's replies and react.
You don't skim see they exist and then continue your own thing like they don't exist. If someone talks to you directly and you act like they are not there and walk through them because they stood in front of you. You will find repercussions. Ignoring others will not be tolerated if it is done on purpose and not done out of being tired or simply and honestly you not realizing or forgetting they were there. If you genuinely forgot or didn't mean to ignore them you don't have to worry but if that is not the case expect to get in trouble. Also, do not bring OOC issues you have with others into your RP's... that's just not any fun for anyone and makes things a bit awkward when suddenly 'Bobby' is being mean to his long time best friend when they had just been smiling and laughing.
Godmodding, Power Playing, Ninja Dodging, Rhino Hiding, and Being Logical: Simply don't do these and be logical. If you don't know what any of these are look it up. Doing any of these things is considered heavily rude in the RP community. You aren't the main character of an anime so you should never logically win every fight. Losing builds character too. And you don't have to win every battle to be cool. Winning means nothing if you never lose.
Also don't use other individuals characters without permission. They are those members babies, not yours. they took the time to make their characters, bond with them, and make them who they are today not you. So never assume you know how they would handle things to the point of it being okay to decide what they would do without asking and then RP-ing like they did the said thing.
If others say that's what they would do and you can say they did so then that is okay. If they didn't, don't do it. If they said not to, don't do it. Anything but a yes you can do this, is a no. Respect your fellow members because they take the time to respect you.And even if they don't, doing this is not worth it for the punishments you may receive.
Skipping: Unless stated by staff, or in the thread you made officially by you in OOC members are permitted to skip others if the following happens. They fail to post in 4 days and you have reminded them, they then either told you to skip them or have not replied and it has been 3 days. If they keep going at this rate and seem to be purposely slowing your threads do not skip them until you have taken it to the staff and they told you to do so after they had looked into the issue.
Posting Order: Unless stated in a thread by staff or it being an AU thread, one must always follow the posting order, if you joined second, and someone joined after you it goes the creator, you, then other guy, then back to the creator. If someone new joins their position in the order is after who ever they posted after.
Double Posting: Please avoid Double Posting when you are in a thread with someone else. If you need to add more tell your fellow RP-ers to wait for you to do so and edit into your thread, please do not just send 2 or more posts after another because you want to add more to your reply.
